Caustic Potash Lye is a strong base which has chemical formula KOH with molar mass of 56.11 g/mol. It is highly appreciated for having good thermal stability which shows solubility in alcohol and glycerol. This chemical compound can be prepared by adding potassium carbonate to calcium hydroxide under controlled conditions. It is known to find application in formulation of biodiesel, soft soaps, and as an electrolyte. Caustic Potash Lye appears as white colored solid with deliquescent property and odorless nature.
