Tri Sodium Citrate finds most common application as an anticoagulant which is required to preserve blood safely for its entire shelf life. It has molecular formula Na3C6H5O7 with molar mass of 258.06 g/mol in anhydrous form. This compound is also used as preservative and flavoring agent in food processing industries with E number E331. It is also found in club soda, gelatin mix, jams, milk powders, processed cheese, and wine. Tri Sodium Citrate is greatly admired for having exceptional cleaning ability and is intended to be used for removing carbonate scale from boilers and for cleaning of radiators installed in vehicles.
